This will make a perfect Valentine's breakfast for your sweetheart!
Chocolate Cherry Crisp
Phase 3
Makes 2 standard servings grain, fruit and healthy fat
2 cups cherries, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup xylitol or stevia equivalent
Pinch of salt
1 tsp alcohol free vanilla
1T arrowroot powder
1T cold water
Topping:
1/2 cup dry rolled oats
1/4 cup pecans, walnuts or raw almonds
2T raw cashew or raw almond butter
1T cocoa
1T xylitol or stevia equivalent
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Put the cherries and water into a saucepan and place on medium heat. Add a pinch of salt. Bring just to simmer. Mix arrowroot and cold water to make a slurry. Add to hot cherries and stir until thick. Stir in vanilla. Pour this into a baking dish.
Place topping ingredients in a food processor and pulse a few times. Spread this topping on the hot cherries in the baking dish.
Place in oven and bake 20-25 minutes.

ReplyDeleteThere are no grains or fruits in p3 snack. This would be part of p3 breakfast. You need to add protein and veggies. As recipe states, this makes 2 standard servings
