This smoothie tastes like a chocolate covered cherry! You will not believe you are eating healthy with this one.
Smoothies are a HUGE part of The Fast Metabolism Diet Plan in my house. Every morning starts with a smoothie. Often times, I have one pre workout and then one for breakfast. Smoothies are versatile, easy, SO tasty and you can include all meal components with a little creativity. Smoothies can be used for meals, snacks and in between. Stay tuned for my smoothie cookbook, coming in October 2016!
Tips: Prep smoothies ahead- you can put smoothie ingredients (except liquids) in a zip top bag and freeze it. All you do is put the contents of the bag in the blender, add water (or phase appropriate liquid) and blend!
-Pair strong flavored fruits with mild flavored vegetables.
-Egg whites (liquid and powdered) or beef collagen powder can be used as protein.
-Add ice and water a little at a time until you get the texture and thickness you want
-A sturdy blender helps

This is my collection of healthy recipes that are family friendly, tasty, easy and fun! All are SUGAR FREE, I use healthy fats, easy to digest grains and lots of veggies. Most recipes fit into eating plans written by Haylie Pomroy- The Fast Metabolism Diet Plan, Metabolism Revolution, Food Rx Plans and Burn plans. I did not write these plans, I do not own the plans. These are my recipes I use for those plans. Of course, you don't have to be on a plan to eat these yummy recipes!
Can this be used as a snack?
ReplyDeleteThe p1 version can be used as a snack in p1
DeleteBreakfastor lunch only in p3
This is so good! I added rice milk along with the water for phase 1.
ReplyDeleteSo much health benefits from cherry. This would be perfect for my post workout recovery. Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteHow many servings does this recipe make? I have also purchased your smoothie recipe book and was wondering how many servings each recipe makes. Seems like a LOT for one serving, but I am new to all of this and am trying to figure it all out before I jump in. The pre planning is really getting the better of me. Organization in the kitchen is not my strong suite. Thanks for your help in advance. Wendy
ReplyDeleteEach smoothie recipe is one serving for under 20lb goal. You would need to asd 50% more fruit and veggie for over 40lb goal
DeleteWhen you put vegetables in your smoothies (e.g. carrots, zucchini) do you put them in raw? Or do you cook them a bit first to get them soft?
ReplyDeleteI have a Vitamix that blends very smoothly, so I use raw. You can cook them if you want but it could change the taste of the smoothie
