Hamburger Soup- Metabolism Revolution, Phase 1, Phase 3

This soup is so simple to make. Use whatever veggies you have and like. Adjust the veggie portions and protein portions to fit your plan. Serve this over cooked quinoa if you need a grain or complex carb. Use the portion you need for your plan. 


Hamburger Soup
8 protein servings for Metabolism Revolution
10 standard FMD servings

1lb ground beef
3 cups cooked beans (white or black or even lentils)
8 cups or 16 cups of veggies (depending on your plan)

  • use carrots, celery, onion, green beans, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, butternut squash, asparagus- whatever veggies fit your phase and program
3 stems fresh thyme
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp salt 
1 tsp black pepper
3 bay leaves
2T fresh parsley, chopped OR 1T dried
1-2 quarts homemade beef stock

Brown the meat and onions. Add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add veggies, herbs, spices. Cover with stock. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer and cook until the veggies are done. Add beans just before serving. Remove bay leaves and thyme stems. Serve over quinoa if you need.

  1. If a protein serving for Metabolism Revolution is 4 oz/serving then a pound of ground beef at 16 ounces to the pound is only 4 protein servings and not 8 as you posted. Have I missed something in your calculations?

    1. The beans are also protein in MR. I included 4 servings of beans, 4 servings of meat. 8 servings of protein.

    3. Stock is allowed only if it's homemade. No store bought
