Welcome, New Folks!

Happy New Year!

'Tis the season for resolutions of getting healthy, losing weight. If you have chosen Haylie's Fast Metabolism Diet- CONGRATULATIONS! This plan works!

For new people, this plan can be very overwhelming at first. Lots of lists, meal maps, grocery lists, prepping, cooking, eating, and more eating! So, to help, I am sharing my week's meal map. I don't normally write them out, since I have been eating this way for well over a year, but I really think it will help. As you can see, I don't use Haylie's recipes. While they are good recipes for those who don't like to cook, or doesn't know how to cook, we find them bland. It was much easier to modify what we normally ate into an FMD version.

Here is what I am eating this week. I also have a menu here.

  1. This is incredible - thank you. I have a question about the collagen powder. I take it can be a substitute for eggs in Phase 2 - thank you! getting sick of eggs. Where do you get it and how much do you use?

  2. The collagen powder is a protein. The only approved brand it Great Lakes Brand beef collagen powder in the green can.
4T is a standard meal portion. So 2T is a snack. If you are trying to lose over 40lbs, it would be 6T for a meal and 3T for a snack.
I buy online, Amazon or Vitacost.com. Do a quick Google search for best price.

    1. Does it get foamy when blended, like egg protein powder?

  3. Hi Carolyn, How do you cook your BBQ chicken? My daughter and her husband are starting FMD this week and I think this will be a good meal for P2. I am making your P2 compliant BBQ sauce!
    Thanks,
    Teresa

    1. Hi Theresa, Sometimes I cook chicken in the crock pot, shred, then mix in the BBQ sauce. Or I will grill the chicken, then brush the sauce on at the end,and cook a bit on the grill. You could also bake the chicken in the sauce.
